At the risk of proving my own point, I’d say that web comments are more undead, in reference to the fact that most comments are facile, brainless quips.
Didn’t know that about gawker commenters - interesting. It’s the only site in which the comments are usually as good as the writing, which I guess isn’t saying much, but they are generally pretty funny.
